ELIGIBILITY AND AGE REQUIREMENTS
World Ballet Grand Prix Singapore is open to ballet and contemporary dancers from all countries, ages from 8 -21 years old (based on your age as of 1 January 2023).
MUSIC
1.Competitor must prepare his/her own-recorded music files for the competition.
2. Competitors will receive the Dropbox link to Upload your music prior to the Competition
3. The music for the competition must be recorded separately with the title as WAV or MP3 file. So, each file should contain only music. For pas de deux music, also each section of the music must be separated.
4. The participant is responsible for the sound quality of his/her own music file. WBGP is NOT responsible for the quality of music.
5. Each title of music file should contain the name of the participant, the title of the music.
6. A competitor should bring, in case, additional music file or for his/her during competition.
7. All music must be age appropriate and free of any apparent profanity or vulgar language. Disqualification may occur if it is deemed the music is of this nature.
COMPETITION
1. Participants can dance Solo or Duet each round (Pre-Junior(A)(B),Junior(A) can dance only Solo).
2. All participants will be judged individually regardless of Solo or Pas de Deux.
3. Non-competing partner is allowed to dance for competing partner in Duet.
4. WBGP is open to dance students all nationalities age 8-21 years old. Categories are based on dancers age as of 1 January 2023.
POINTE SHOES
- 8 – 11 Years Old: Soft Ballet Shoes required for competition (Soft Ballet shoes only for this division – Pointe Shoes are not Permitted)
- 12 – 13 Years Old: You have the option to wear Soft Ballet Shoes or Pointe Shoes for this Age Division
- 14 Years Old and Above: Pointe Shoes required for competition (Pointe Shoes must be worn in this Age Division for all Female Participants)
COPYRIGHTS
The WBGP has all copyrights of photography and videos taken during the WBGP including. The WBGP also has the copyrights of video and photography of the contemporary works. The WBGP also reserves the exclusive right to sign contracts with third parties for merchandising of the above- mentioned material.
COMPETITORS
- Cut off age will be by 1 January 2023. Proof of Age is required with a copy of the Childs Birth Certificate.
- The order of appearance on Competition date will be determined by WBGP SG. Competitors must accept and follow the order. Under NO circumstances will this order change
- Competitors must wear their own costumes and make-up. Suitable for the Variation and Free Choice chosen. Elaborate costuming will not add an extra value or points to the competitors scores.
- All competition performances are open to the public.
MEDIA AND RECORDINGS
WBGP SG owns exclusive rights to the competition and related activities, including press interviews, all audio and video recordings during the competition, master classes, rehearsals, backstage, lobby, live broadcasting, reporting, photographs, production and distribution of presswork and audio-visual products created during the competition, opening ceremony and galas. Participants and their parents and/or legal guardians give their express permission for WBGP SG to make any photo/video recordings at any time. By participating in WBGP SG, participants and their parents or legal guardians give WBGP SG their express permission to use any such photo/video recordings including those containing their name for promotional purposes (including any uses in print, video, online, or in social media).
- Without the written approval of WBGP SG, none of the above shall be conducted by any person.
- WBGP SG and any third party authorized by WBGP SG are entitled to arrange for competitors to attend activities like photo sessions, interviews, broadcasting, audio and video recordings.
- Competitors release to WBGP SG and any third party authorised by WBGP the following rights during the competition and activities described in (2) as above:
A. Live broadcasting and public transmitting
B. Audio and video recording
C. Reproduction and distribution of audio-visual products
D. Transmitting through internet
E. WBGP SG warrants that no competitors’ images will be distorted or misused. - Competitors and their parents/guardians consent to WBGP SG and any third party authorized by WBGP SG in using their name, portrait, photos, voices and resumes in the following conditions and on the following products:
A. During introduction, presentation and promotion of the competition and related activities.
B. During production, recording, publishing, promotion and distribution of presswork and audiovisual products of the competition and related activities. - All the above rights mentioned in (3) and (4), which competitors and their parents/guardians release to WBGP SG free of any charge, are permanent and cannot be changed or limited by location and time.
- In the case that competitors use music, choreography, and stage design copyrighted by any third, or provide photos and resumes to WBGP SG which belong to any third party, competitors must obtain a thorough and complete written authorization from the royalty owner, and provide it to WBGP SG. Competitors warrant that such authorization will not only grant them the right to use these works during their competition, but also ensure no rights granted to WBGP SG or any third party authorized by WBGP SG in (3) and (4) are in violations of rights against the royalty owner. Otherwise, competitors must compensate WBGP SG for any damage caused by compromising their warrants.
- During the competition, competitors must not accept any interview about the competition by any news agency, organization or individual not authorized by WBGP SG, or release to any third party any information about the competition not publicly announced by WBGP SG. WBGP SG reserves the right to disqualify competitors who violate this rule.
INSURANCE AND SECURITY
- WBGP SG does not take responsibility for any previous injuries, chronic health conditions or stolen properties. Competitors must purchase their own insurances for accidents, disease and personal property.
- Non-competitors are not allowed to enter the stage and wings area for safety reasons.
- No one is allowed to take photos or make video recordings during the competition unless authorized by WBGP SG.
- All competitors must carry a security/ competitor pass issued by WBGP SG at all times during the competition.
NOTES
- All competitors must agree and follow all contents of this regulation when they sign up for WORLD BALLET GRAND PRIX SINGAPORE.
- Resolution to any arguments should be based on this regulation, WBGP SG holds the right of final interpretation of this regulation.
PUBLICITY AND PARTICIPATION
Accepted competitors must ensure that they have the choreography and music rights to perform the contemporary pieces. Performers featured in any events will be selected by the Jury panel.
REFUNDS
There are no refunds for entry fees.
